Some even claimed it was the 'hug that broke the internet' as the emotional moment struck a chord with viewers. The reaction to the episode itself was divisive - with many fans of the show delighted with it and describing it as a 'return to form' while others upset at its 'over- the- top- storyline and 'switching over to ITV for Endeavour'.
