King of the Hill and even that other show with the baby are a lot more risque than this, and thats sad, considering the price youre forced to pay to see this, which was literally YEARS in the making, only to end up, as so many reviewers have so aptly mentioned, a longer version of a regular episode. BurnsSmithers get a 2 minute quick spot Comic Book Guy says 2 lines and thats it Bain is renamed to Schwarzenegger, which kills the original joke Santas Little Helper shows up inexplicably at the end of the movie etc etc etc. All of the other characters are just thrown in there for their one little piece of the spotlight and thats it. I dont even remember seeing Apu. Oh, and by the way, three of the funniest characters on the show were not to be seen Skinner, Krabappel, and Chalmers. HOWEVER. The picture quality of this movie is top notch. Its not just the clean appearance of the animation, even though its absolutely striking, its the animation technique. The regular Simpsons used blurry transitions and film strip methods to transition between scenes. If you recall the intro with the Simpsons name, and how thats animated, this whole movie is animated the same way it comes across a lot better than the show.
